Obama’s the President-Elect for the US.  Millions of people went out and voted.  I’m happy, and hope that he is the change everyone’s looking for.

Now, a month before, us Canadians had an election of OUR leader.  Our electoral process is different than what goes on in the US – no electoral college, just that whoever ends up with the most seats wins.  Which is okay, I guess.  There wasn’t nearly the media coverage about this – I doubt even any foreign news service picked it up. I’m just wondering why the hell even my Canadian friends are more excited about the American election than they were about the Canadian one.  “If I could have voted, I totally would have voted for Obama.” Did you vote in our election?  “There was no point. Harper was going to win anyway.”

Harper won another MINORITY GOVERNMENT. We could have gotten our version of W. out of office if more people had gone out to vote.  The amount of Canadians that went out and voted was the LOWEST EVER RECORDED, people!!!

I’m still all WTH over our election. But, it’s done, and hopefully in a few years we might be able to get someone that can bring positive change to our country.  Hopefully.

Also, on an unrelated note: I don’t work ANYWHERE this weekend.  You have no idea how excited I am about this.  I can pretend I have a normal life.  If I had a boyfriend, I could go out on a date and not have to worry about getting up early for work the next day!!! :)   As it is, Cat and I are planning on crashing her manfriend’s house and drinking wine Friday night and bitching about boys & life.  I’m so looking forward to it, you have no idea. (I’m using that too much lately, that ‘you have no idea.’ oh well!)

Also the second? I passed my aptitude test for the college and am going for an information session after work on Thursday Nov 20. That means I’m skipping out on Brownies.  Oops, oh well. S says that she can run the meeting that night, so yay! :)   Theoretically, if there’s no waiting list, this means I will be starting school January 5th. SO EXCITED I WISH IT WAS JANUARY NOW.
