I don’t know if anyone actually reads my posts, so there’s that.

A lot has happened. School is done, and I’m now a productive member of society again. I’m even paying rent! And a cable bill!

Well, I’ve only paid them twice, because I just moved into my own place at the end of April. I still have half-unpacked boxes all over the place, but I love it. It will seem more spacious once I get a storage unit on my floor at the end of the month, and with the way that time has been flying lately, it won’t be too long. Then it will be house-party time!

Well, we’ll see about that. (Which reminds me, oddly enough, that I have to call Shaw and see if someone can come by and fix my phone line so my buzzer works.)

Work is going really well. I started right after the Christmas/New Years break, and have passed my probation period. I’m stoked to have benefits again. Really good benefits. I’m working as a web developer, and I need to do more development stuff on my own time so I don’t forget things. I’ve got a couple of projects that should start up soon, one of which is a paid gig, which is good. The paid gig was just for some code clean up, but I think I’ve pretty much talked him into letting me redevelop his site.

… This isn’t much of a “hey, I’m back!” post, but it’s all I’ve got in the couple of minutes I can manage to squeeze in at work. :)

It’s going to take a little tweaking to see if I can get it working on one of my work projects, but that’s mostly because I didn’t code the original page and can’t recode it.

I’ve come to the realization that Hello Kitty BandAids don’t hold up well on cuts on your fingertips.  Especially when you’re typing as much as I do.

The phones have been quiet here since we’ve been back.  I’m sure a lot of companies have taken the rest of this week off and will be back en masse on Monday.  Which means, I’m sure, we’ll be getting a lot of phone calls and panicked customers going “OMG WTF WHERES MY STUFF BITCH?!” in assorted accents.

I’m still loving my new 22″ (okay so it’s only 21.6″ … this is one thing I won’t care about missing a quarter of an inch) monitor.  Installed the old DVD software that I forgot I’d had, and have been watching something on it almost every night.  (Mostly Stargate: SG1 season 3.  I loves me my SG1) Yay widescreen!

It’s Friday, so I’m hoping the afternoon is busier than this, because I’ve pretty much cleaned all the work off my desk that I’ve needed to do.  I guess I could work on the website … it’d be better if I hadn’t forgotten my books at home.  I’d taken them home with me over the break, thinking I would have had time or the inclination to work on the website over the break.

HA.  Like that was going to happen.

Oh well.  Back at ‘er!

I have to say that I didn’t find it on my own (because … why would I have?  I never find the cool things on my own.) but found it via one Mr. Warren Ellis.  (he’s warren_ellis on LJ which is where he posted the link to the LJ Crossposter (or ljxp as the developer calls it). (I really should read some of his books – the short fiction he posts to his LJ is really fun.)

Ugh. Okay, I need to get to bed so I can get up and going and not fall asleep after my alarm goes off again this morning. Must get up and brave the cold and the ID10T drivers and get to work!
