Wow! Its October 2nd, and we’re a week away from the Thanksgiving Long Weekend, which itself is a week away from midterm exams.

How the hell is it time for midterms already? Didn’t we just get back to class after a too short summer with crappy weather? I remember summer lasting so much longer when I was a kid. Now, you blink and it’s gone.

School is going okay. All technical classes this term, and even though I’m still only technically in my first year still, the workload seems to be that much more heavy than it was last term. You have no idea how glad I am that I was able to drop Girl Guides this year. I wouldn’t be able to sleep if I had to still do that on top of school, work, and hockey. And then I would be insane, which wouldn’t be a good thing.

Life is crazy, and I’m just along for the ride. It seems all of my married friends are expecting, so next year is going to be a busy year for babies! I’m excited. Babies are cute.

iPod just shuffled to two Pearl Jam songs. Yay! Spin the Black Circle and then Porch. NICE.

I miss my friends. There is a social tomorrow night, so I’m hoping I can get enough work done tonight (around SG:U!!!!) that I can justify taking tomorrow night off homework. Or I will anyway, but I do need to get a good start on my Java project that is due on Wednesday.

Ugh. Long bus ride. I dislike taking the bus home during non-peak hours. It takes twice as long as the express does and just takes soooo long. Blah. It is cheaper than me taking my car to school everyday, though. I’m just whiny.

LOL wah wah wah! I’m a whiny baby!

Anyway. Not too far now. Maybe I’ll have a nap and listen to music and try to ignore the guy’s elbow in the back of my neck.

V. tired. Still not King skinny fit/in shape independantly wealthy. I’ve been to the gym for (around) 6 am every day this week so far, except Monday, because the water was off and I wasn’t going to the gym then coming to work unshowered.

5:30 am is way too damn early. The past two days I’ve been leaving home when it’s dark and getting home when it’s dark, too. TF, man? Got to the gym this morning early before they opened the doors and then realized I’d left my water bottle at home. Called Dad, who would have been leaving soon to come to the gym anyway and asked pretty please for him to fill it and bring it with. Then got up to the locker room and realized I’d left my shoes in the car. TF MORNING. I swear I was still asleep until about 10 minutes into my abbreviated 20 minutes on the cross trainer. Stupid mornings.

Still not King Queen.

I’ve got more shifts in the next three weeks than I’ve had in the past two years. I don’t NEED all these shifts now, kthx Cara. Yeah, I’m saving up to go on my trip/back to school, but DUDE. I pay much less rent now than I did before and don’t have to buy groceries either. The only reason I’m still working at the store is because I’ll need some sort of job when I quit the Day Job and go back to school.

Which reminds me, I have to go and pay sometime soon for the aptitude test I have to take.

Disclaimer before I start the next story: If you know my exBoy R in real life, please don’t mention any of this to him. It’s not like it’s a big thing, but I’m sure if you don’t already know, he’ll want to mention it in his own time.

The ExBoy R called me on Sunday night and left a message on my cell. Phone was in my room while I was not. The Italian Job was on Bravo (yay not censored language!), so I was watching the pretty pretty that is Mark Whalberg and Jason Statham. Anyway. He says to call him back. It’s 10:30pm so I send a txt to see if he’s awake. No reply so I go to bed. I call Monday evening after hockey, and get no answer, so I leave him a message. He calls me while I’m at work Tuesday night, so I call him after and find out what’s going on. Last time he left a message like that, his aunt passed away.

Apparently, he’s just started seeing someone a week or so ago, and wanted to let me know before I found out from one of our mutual friends. I was slightly surprised, but am happy for him, and appreciate him telling me himself and not finding out from someone else.

Thing is, I’m not sure how I feel about it. I’m glad for him because apparently he’s been asking different girls out for a while (whatever), and he deserves to be happy. I’m not upset or anything, but … it feels sort of weird, I guess. The only thing I can pin it down to is the fact that since we do have a few good friends in common (our best friends are married), we do see each other pretty often and I don’t want a big group thing to get weird. New Years Eve is my best friend’s birthday and since she’s married to his best friend, there’s parties and shenanigans and I’m sure he’ll be there with her. So. Yeah. I don’t want things to be weird because I don’t want to loose his friendship, because I still care about him.

It’s totally weird and totally strange and WTF Brain!!!?!

In other, less weird related news, I have more Brownies than I know what to do with. I’ve got two more that I didn’t know about registering tonight, and HOLY SHIT I’m totally overwhelmed, and we’ve only had one meeting.

Last year I had 6 girls. This year I have at least 12, if not 14. HOLY SHITWTFBBQ?!?!?!?!??! I mean, yeah, it’s great that I have a lot of girls because we can do a hell of a lot more with 14 than with 6, but OMG. I can’t handle that many kids right now!!! </freakout>

… I should probably do some, you know, work. Since I’m here and all.

So, apparently Grand Master Stephen Harper went to see the Govenor General on Sunday morning, had Parliament dissolved and we, the Canadian People get to go and vote for our next Grand Master (I mean, Prime Minister) on Tuesday, October 14th.

There are a bunch of commercials on, showing Harper in a nice (but expensively furnished) sitting room, in front of a fireplace, talking about family and being all soft and trying to appeal to the middle class female (supposedly) voters.

I’m sorry, but NO. I can’t really thing of any other word to describe him, but he’s a great big fat douche.

I just … NO. Even if we get another minority government, please let it be not the Conservatives that get it. NDP, Green, hell, I’d be happy with a Liberal minority government. Who cares if Stephane Dion has issues with his english – most people i know have issues with English and it’s their primary language.

Anyway. Yes.

Work is going. A new position was applied for. I have to call the college back to find out what’s going on with my application, since it’s been over a month, and besides that call I received a week after asking about testing. Nada. So, I know they’ve received it, that call and the $60 charge went through on my credit card, so… yeah. I called back earlier this morning and their computer systems were down for about 20 minutes, so I have to call back later. Should probably wait until the bosses are gone for lunch, but … really. Who cares?

Dragon Boat races were this past weekend – our women’s boat came in 4th out of all the women’s boats, so that’s pretty cool. It was DAMN cold, and it took me forever to warm up after our final race on Sunday morning.

I’m tired and stressing out about everything and nothing. It sucks. I haven’t been sleeping well lately, and I’ve had no energy and it really sucks. I’m wondering if I should start getting up early and going to the gym before work like my parents do.

I’m making Mom take me out to the driving range sometime before next Thursday, because apparently, work is having a bit of a best ball golf tourney next Thursday afternoon. Of course, that was the day I was planning on starting my Brownie unit, so I think I might be pushing it back a week, or maybe I’ll just have a short, later-starting meeting that night. I’m not sure. I’ll have to talk with Dawn about it. Our First meeting is never usually the full hour and a half anyway.

Blah. I hate being stressed out. I want to go back to school – I’m so envious of everyone that’s back there.

Way too much stuff. Did I even look at this junk before I packed it all up the first time? I don’t think so.

I move this week. The DayJob is on shutdown this week, which is great, because then I’m not stressing out nearly as much as I would be if I had to work. I’ve been going through all my papers and crap that I have before repacking/reorganizing it in preparation for the move. I’m not sure how much friend-help we’ll be getting because we’re out on Thursday and D’s into her new place on Friday. I’m hoping to have all my big stuff gone by Wednesday night at the latest.

Yeah. I’ve got way too much crap. I’m not sure where I’m going to be putting it all. I’ve gotten rid of a metric buttload of clothes that don’t fit any more. I’ve already dumped a giant box full of papers (mostly notes from when I was in university?!?!) into the recycle bins. I still have a bunch of crap to go through and pack.

The thing that’s really confusing me: I’ve got two cd’s that are missing their cases, and I’ve got three cases that are missing cds. Plus, I’m missing at least one CD set (Les Miserables 10 year anniversary concert double CD set), which I’m not too happy about. I found a Rascal Flats cd mixed in with mine – the cd not the case, which would belong to the roommate that’s already moved out.

I’ve found my old student IDs from Red River College and the UofM. Both pictures make me laugh – SO FUNNY OMG. Hee.

Um. Yes.

I’ve done a bunch of running around today. Chiropractor appointment first thing this morning, then I went over to my parents place (home of my soon to be mine again room), helped my dad set up my new Ikea desk (ZOMGIKEAYAY!), came home and had lunch with M (and organized/packed my cds), then picked up D, took her to get her ‘scrip filled then to work. Got an oil change and came home. Laundry is in the wash, and I think I might go down and make me some dinner. YUM. I <3 food. Tonight is more sorting/packing/etc-ing.

I wish I could wiggle my nose and everything be done.

I’m excited that I get two long weekends in a row – Monday is a holiday, and then I’m also taking the Friday off to go down to Red Lake Falls for tubing. The sites are booked, and my ride is arranged. SO MUCH FUN TO BE HAD YAY! Plus plus also and – SHOPPING. YAY!

I had a weird-ass dream last night involving a very young Tom Felton (like, Philosopher’s Stone young), me treating him like my younger brother or a cousin or something, shenanigans at a mall and various surrounding locations, and … yeah. It was weird.

But I slept like a rock last night, and am feeling good and productive today. So far anyway. Maybe this Friday won’t suck too much.

I got reimbursed for my new lenses yesterday – it was depositied into my account, and I quickly put it against the balance on my MasterCard. They actually covered the cost of my new magnetic clip-on frames, too! I got my eyes checked recently and instead of getting a new set of frames since I still like my ‘old’ ones, I just replaced the clip on that I’d lost last summer when Maria and I were in Fargo (Space Alien Cafe FTW!). I’m only out the cost of the exam, though it looks like they put the $90 for the new frames as the exam. Hmm. Hopefully they won’t be looking for $60 down the road. (… Apparently I’ve still got $70 left to use on frames/contact lenses … Odd)

My eyes are being wacky today (and were yesterday, too), and not liking to be able to focus on anything. I’m probably dehydrated, so they’re cranky at me or something. I know I’m dehydrated because my lips are dry and I only had a can of Diet Pepsi yesterday. Me = Not Smart. I wasn’t feeling too hot yesterday kind of bleh, but I’m feeling much better today.

I work tomorrow evening and Sunday afternoon. An uncle is in town Sunday-Whenever for a conference, so I’ll get to see him Sunday night. Yay!

I’m sure there was something else I wanted to say, but … hey, look. My boss just came in, 2.5 hours late. And I’m sure he’ll only be here for an hour or two, because after being in Chicago for a conference for most of the week, he’s leaving for Vegas tonight and spending the next week in Vegas & California.

Whatever. He’s family, he can do whatever the hell he wants.

Question: If you’re not going to bother answering pages for phone calls, why the hell would you come into the office? No one knows what you do all day, anyway. If you’re not answering phone calls when people call specifically for you, wth man?

I’m a little cranky.

The long weekend was great – I actually had two whole days off! Not in a row, mind you (Friday, and Sunday), but they were two whole days off! Good Friday, everything was closed, so I hung out and watched Serenity and a disk and a half worth of Criminal Minds with Deena, then went to my parents for Easter dinner. Mmm, turkey. Yeah, I know you’re not supposed to eat meat on Good Friday (or some such), but it was yummy and my parents left for St. Louis, MO on o’ Dark Stupid Sunday morning. Mmm, sacrilige.

Saturday I worked, and we had the entire Manitoba Moose team in the store for a couple of hours, signing autographs, and bagging groceries. OMG, EYE CANDY. I had #38, Greg Rallo helping me bag groceries. He’s a cutie! (Although now knowing that he’s younger than my brother… I’m a creepy old lady! Hee.) It was a fun couple of hours. The store was insane because the last shopping day before Easter is our busiest day of the year. Which seems sort of odd to me, but whatever.

Dog sat Blazer, a chubby chocolate lab Saturday evening, and came home Sunday morning to hang out, finish reading a book I’d only got 10 pages into on Saturday night, then do some laundry and get more Criminal Minds watched. We’re on Season 2, now!

I tried installing Geany under Ubuntu last night, after being reccomended it by a friend/co-worker, and was up until 11:30 before I quit and went to bed. I downloaded Geany, tried to install it, found out I need to install GTK+ first. Downloaded and tried to install that, and found out I needed like, four other things. And for those four other things, I need another half a dozen packages to install. Needless to say, I’m not to pleased. I think I only need a couple more packages and then I’m good. Who knows, though.

There’s a couple of people out of the office today, one’s sick, the other is taking a couple of days vacation, so it’s quiet. There’s probably a lot of people across Canada that have today off as well, but I don’t think anyone in the US has Easter Monday off. Not sure, though. I don’t mind the phones being quiet, because (other than typing this up), I’ve been busy trying to cover for other people and get shit arranged to get shipped out.

Sigh.

Car lease is up not at the end of November/ beginning of December like I’ve been thinking and saying for the past few months, but it’s up January 14, 2009. Which kind of sucks, but whatever. If I’m going back to school in January, that’ll be okay. I hope. Plus, January = possible trip to the Dominican Repiblic for a cousins wedding. I’ve never been anywhere before, so I’m hoping I can save up enough to go. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

I have to get my tax receipt redone for my RRSP contributions for 2007 (March-December), because they effed up, and included another RRSP that I have that was rolled over as a contribution. I would have liked to have been able to claim over $3k in RRSP contributions for taxes (that would have garnered me an almost $800 tax return) but I don’t want it to come and bite me in the ass later. Kind of like what happened last year. I picked up UFile to do my taxes and it took me a grand total of about 30 minutes to do my taxes, and also a hell of a lot cheaper ($19.99 + 12% (or is it 13%?) taxes) than getting the accountant that fucked it up last year ($50). Plus, if I fuck it up, then it’s my own damn fault. But I checked it over with my Mom and it looks like everything’s on the level.

Look! It’s almost time to run away for lunch. YAY! Forgot to bring a lunch today (despite the copious amounts of turkey and other leftovers in my fridge), but I have to run out anyway to deal with my RRSP tax receipt from the credit union.

To the <strike>Accident</strike> <strike>BatMobile!</strike> Accent!<strike>

Thank whatever deity you belive in. I’m ready for 4:30pm on Friday afternoon already, and I’ve only been here for a day and a half so far this week. The day off Monday was a wonderful thing, but, as always, it was over way too fast. Roommate 1 and I went and saw The Spiderwick Chronicles in the afternoon, hit Chapters next store and I spent my gift cards from Christmas on Neil Gaiman’s Stardust, and some Rockstar-themed scrap book paper. It’s SO COOL, I love it.

Now, I haven’t actually done any scrapbooking per se, but I use the paper for cards that I’ve started to make. (Which reminds me, To The People I Got Christmas Cards From That Never Got Them In Return From Me: I’m thinking you’ll be getting Christmas Cards around Easter. Someone hold me to that, mmkay?) This paper was TOO COOL to pass up. The way some of the pages are laid out makes me think I might just have to turn them into scrapbook pages, just so I can keep them intact.

Enough dorking about the (uber cool!) paper. Got the stamps that I’d ordered from Deena’s Stampin’ Up party a few weeks ago. Yay!

Did Day 1 of a First Aid training on Sunday, Day 2 is this coming Sunday. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday – the instructor is hillarious and was flirting with all the girls – but DAMN, I would have like to not have set my alarm. Oh well.

Mom’s in Edmonton & Calgary this week, and she’s planning on hitting an IKEA at some point. I love that store so much, I’d probably spend a lot of money there if we had one here – it’s probably good that we don’t.

Two more hours then I’m freeeeeeeeeee (until tomorrow). Gah, Wednesdays suck sometimes.

Christmas was good – lots of time spent with family, friends, and doing as little as possible. For some reason, I couldn’t get a good night’s sleep, and ended up coming back to work feeling like I could have used another week off, but whatever. I’ve slept better the past couple of nights, so I’m catching up on some of my sleep debt. Ugh. I hate sleep debt.

I’ve come to the realization that Hello Kitty BandAids don’t hold up well on cuts on your fingertips. Especially when you’re typing as much as I do.

The phones have been quiet here since we’ve been back. I’m sure a lot of companies have taken the rest of this week off and will be back en masse on Monday. Which means, I’m sure, we’ll be getting a lot of phone calls and panicked customers going “OMG WTF WHERES MY STUFF BITCH?!” in assorted accents.

I’m still loving my new 22″ (okay so it’s only 21.6″ … this is one thing I won’t care about missing a quarter of an inch) monitor. Installed the old DVD software that I forgot I’d had, and have been watching something on it almost every night. (Mostly Stargate: SG1 season 3. I loves me my SG1) Yay widescreen!

It’s Friday, so I’m hoping the afternoon is busier than this, because I’ve pretty much cleaned all the work off my desk that I’ve needed to do. I guess I could work on the website … it’d be better if I hadn’t forgotten my books at home. I’d taken them home with me over the break, thinking I would have had time or the inclination to work on the website over the break.

HA. Like that was going to happen.

Oh well. Back at ‘er!
